The German Development Service is one of the leading European development services for personnel cooperation. It was founded in 1963: since then more than 15 000 development workers have committed themselves to improve the living conditions of people in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Their aims are to fight poverty, promote a self-determined, sustainable development and to preserve natural resources.

DED places development workers at the request of governmental and nongovernmental organisations in its partner countries and on the basis of framework agreements with the respective governments. These development workers are professionally experienced and socially committed specialists who engage mainly in training, advisory capacity and planning tasks.

The DED Indonesia is now looking for a indonesian GIS Assistance to support our project at the BAPPEDA Kota Mataram NTB. The assistance has to train the Bappeda staff in GIS, coordinate and supervise mapping projects, translation of texts from bahasa Indonesia into english, maintain database, data quality control, …aso.

Tasks

• Data Management of the available spatial datasets
• Produce accurate GIS database with diverse topics (topography, infrastructure and administrative boundaries)
• Establish, maintain, store, and document GIS data and maps
• Coordinate and conduct field mapping surveys to collect accurate, detailed feature and attribute data
• Update data lists and metadata in a spatial data library
• Promoting GIS to the governmental agencies
• Motivating the GIS team

• Organizing and conducting Training sessions in ArcGIS 9.3 and ArcPad
