After the initial emergency response to the impact of the tsunami disaster of December 2004, Merlin / Indonesia is currently engaged, both with local authorities,
as well as local NGOs and communities, in a rehabilitation programme, which includes (re)construction of 102 health facilities, outfitting these with equipment, furniture and supplies, watsan activities, training of health staff, health and hygiene awareness raising programmes and other appropriate activities. These activities take place in four locations in Aceh province, namely Banda Aceh town, and the districts of Aceh Besar, Calang and Bireuen.
Merlin / Indonesia is also supporting a local NGO with follow-up activities to the earthquake disaster response near Yogyakarta , Java. It is presently identifying other opportuntities for support as well.
Merlin Banda Aceh is seeking candidates for the following positions Engineering Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for all engineering and construction aspects in the construction of health care waste management (open pits, incinerators, shap pits, etc.) in Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh (24 units). He/She is responsible for the coordination and supervision of construction activities as carried out by contracted contractors and is required to work independently with direction from the Country Director, through Logistics Coordinator, and ensure projects are meeting deadlines and good quality standards (completion date 31st December).
Requirements-
- Ability to prepare BoQ calculations (AutoCAD drawing will be as advantage)
- MS Office and Basic Computer skills
- Ability to supervise construction activities and teams.
- Ability to organise construction material required and scheduling deliveries.
- Experience in managing skilled work groups of community workers
- Experience in working on community based projects.
- Average English skill, Good Acehnese spoken
- Education: Diploma / D3 of Civil Engineering
- Others: - motor bike driving license
