CARE International Indonesia, an international Non-Government
Organization, is implementing Recovery Programme in the Tsunami hit areas of
Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar and Simeulue. The programme aims to rehabilitate
tsunami affected population of the three districts.

Indonesia is presently seeking the following positions to be based in
Banda Aceh:
WATSAN Project Officer - Infrastructure
Project
KEY FUNCTIONS:
The WATSAN Project Officer in the Infrastructure project is to assist
WATSAN Design Engineer in implementing the various Infrastructure
Projects. This will include such tasks as Assisting WATSAN Design Engineer in
developing Detailed Engineering Drawings (Technical specification,
Drawings and BOQ), Responsible for Project site management, Ensure
standardized implementation in Project site by contractor/ vendor. The
candidate also ensures that the programs are well planned and do the
coordination with others in order to meet the goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Relating with administration and Project management
designation due to support the project, included in material and documentation
issue.
2. Conduct a brief Technical survey and compile data or
information from the Project Site by coordinating with involved parties.
3. Assist in technical support for various projects related to
water and sanitation sector.
4. Assist in Providing Detailed Engineering Designs with Bill of
quantities, Material Specification and Installation procedure.
5. Supervise, Control and support the winning Contractor for
implementation of WATSAN Components in the field to ensure the
standardized implementation.
6. Coordinate with the Technical Team to ensure the target of
WATSAN Project are within the designated timeframe.
7. Develop a weekly report to the Supervisor on the progress
made and potential problems.
8. Conduct any other duties that may reasonably be assigned
inline with the position.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
· Bachelor¢s degree in Water and Sanitation related field,
Civil Engineering or any relevant background.
· Good communications skills, including negotiation skills
· Good interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy,
willingness to listen and respect for beneficiaries
· Knowledge and experience in using various computer programs
like Auto CAD, EPANET etc.,
· 2 years experiences in piping and water supply project,
experiences in HDPE installation is high appreciated.
· Honest, responsible, self motivated and able to take
initiative under minimum supervision
· Able to give helpful directions, detailed instructions and
demonstrations
· Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team in a cross
cultural environment
· Able to negotiate and to clarify expectations of both the
beneficiaries and team
· Willing to be placed in CARE area.
