IOM is looking for Livestock Assistant I according to the terms of reference below. Reference Code : SVN/IDI/2007/ 127 Job Title : Livestock Assistant I Duty Station : Takengon, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, Indonesia Classification : Employee, Grade 4 Duration Contract : 3 months with possible extension Estimate Starting Date : As soon as possible
General functions: Under the guidance and supervision of the Project Manager, Support for Conflict-Affected Communities Project (SCACP) and the overall supervision of the Program Manager, Post Conflict & Reintegration Program in Banda Aceh, the incumbent will provide program support duties to the SCACP. In particular, s/he will:
1. Provide technical assistance in management & administration of the SCACP project in a regional office, including as follows:
Work closely with Project Manager and other team members by making meaningful contributions in team planning, implementation and Monitoring & Evaluation; Contribute assistance to achieve the SCACP team’s project outputs based on the project logical framework; Attend meetings with regard to the SCACP project, as requested by the Project Manager.
Provide technical assistance and support to community and local partner(s)/grantee( s) of International Organization of Migration (IOM) in developing proposal of small scale income generation project in livestock and agriculture field by applying community appropriate technology (teknologi tepat guna) to deliver a quick impact as a pathway to sustainability; Coordinate M&E of local partner(s)/grantee( s) in the implementation of community facilitation, participatory monitoring, and small-scale income generation projects by local CSO partners; Coordinate programmatic spot-audits of local partner(s)/grantee( s) partners; Technical assistance to local partner(s)/grantee( s) in conducting business/market/ supply chain analysis; Analyze and advise on economic-support, socio-cultural, and peace-building proposal(s) from local partner(s)/grantee( s) and contractor(s) /service provider(s); Conducting the weekly meeting with local partner(s)/grantee( s) to identify, discuss, and resolve bottlenecks, challenges, and successes in operation; Ensure local partner(s)/grantee( s) implement and promote environmentally friendly practices in agriculture and livestock projects; Coordinate training and mentoring to local partner(s)/grantee( s) and communities by enabling them to more effectively elicit women’s’ demands for community-based projects. Collaborate with team to use and maintain the grant status database through effective and well-organized M&E activities. Ensure that SCACP’s hardcopy and electronic information systems are documented, particularly the important notes of all key SCACP M&E activities. Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager.
Desirable Qualifications
Holds undergraduate/ S1 degree preferably in animal husbandry and/or agricultural science and has solid experience in working with international development and local NGO sector, has experience in grant management with local CSO partners and strong understanding in participatory programming, community facilitation and livelihood programming, Demonstrate ability in administration/ organizational skills and be able to establish priorities and plans.
Able to work independently and show leadership and initiative within team environment, work under pressure and cope with deadlines in rapidly changing condition, familiar with MSWord and MS Excel applications, has knowledge, skills and ability to extract, to interpret, to analyze the financial data is also valuable, has experience in Aceh Tengah, Bener Meriah, Gayo Lues, and/or Aceh Tenggara is an asset, vocational English, spoken and written and fluency in Gayoness and/or Javanese is an advantage.
The key performance indicator of team members will be assessed based on their performance in their specific responsibilities and within the team and the overall achievement of this group. The team member(s) is/are expected to draft the expected delivery during the term of contract service in consultation with the Project Manager.
