IOM Yogyakarta is looking for Construction Coordinator according to the term of reference below. Reference Code : SVN/ID1/2008/ 029 Position Title : Construction Coordinator Duty Station : Yogyakarta, Indonesia Classification : Employee, G5/1 Type of appointment : Special, 1 month with possibility of extension Estimate Starting Date : As soon as possible General functions Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office Yogyakarta and direct supervision of the Programme Manager, he/she will be responsible for the following functions: Provide technical input into the selection of the Construction Service Provider/s (CSP) Coordinate with the CSP in supervising the layout of the land according to the site plan and water/sanitary requirements. Ensure the CSP build in accordance with design, Bill of Quantity (BoQ), specifications and work schedule. Coordinate with the Training Specialist in ensuring community training aligns with construction schedules and vice versa. Attend daily site inspections, following program/schedule issued by the Programme Manager Ensure the quality of the construction and material used in construction and coordinate with the internal monitoring and quality control team. Oversee the maintenance of daily log-books by Site Coordinators provided by CSP. Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the Programme Manager Report any difficulties/ problems in construction process and activities to Programme Manager Assist in the final and close-out inspection of model permanent houses in coordination with CSP and Programme Manager Represent the project in a professional and courteous manner whilst in the field Assist in the preparation of engineering drawing, BoQ-s and specification as required Interface with local authorities concerning any problem generated during the course of implementation of the project Undertake other duties that may be assigned from time to time which are commensurate to the position Desirable Qualifications University degree in Civil Engineering and/or other closely related field. Two to four years experience in infrastructure planning and construction. Proven ability to interact effectively with contractors and government officials/ local authorities is essential. Ability to plan and organize own work; ability to establish priorities and undertake assigned tasks with minimum supervision. Good drafting ability and communication skills, both oral and written to produce reports. Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment and to maintain effective working relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. Able to work independently, under pressure, and undertake frequent project related travels. Able to work during weekends and overtime Thorough knowledge of English and Javanese language ability is an advantage.
