The World Bank Social Development Department manages a diverse portfolio of community development operations, analytical tasks, and policy dialogue with Government on participatory programs for poverty reduction. Staff come from a broad range of backgrounds, but all are committed to basic principles of participation in development programs. As part of its portfolio, the Social Development Department provides assistance to the Government’s national poverty program, PNPM-Mandiri, as well as associated operations and analytical work related to MDGs, justice for the poor, conflict, and gender. The World Bank is seeking committed individuals to fill the following:
Position Title : Senior Program Assistant (CODE = C-2) Supervisor : Team Leader of Support Office for Eastern Indonesia Sector : Social Development Location : Makassar Grade : GD
Specific Responsibilities - Preparing and monitoring budget, preparing monthly budget report for the Eastern Indonesia Program;
- Ensuring that all receipts are properly accounted for and appropriate documentation received and recorded;
- Overseeing the office facilities including managing logistics support for the team and office procurement by coordinating with World Bank Administration Manager and OPC Team;
- Overseeing office equipment and updating office inventory;
- Overseeing Human Resources matters including personnel recruitment and management
- Dealing with outsourcing company that provides services on employment services.
- Advising staff on procedures for the selection of consultants and procurement issues and coordinating with the Procurement Specialist and OPC on the selection process;
- Dealing with vendors that provide services to SOfEI including providing advices on vendor registration and other bank procedures;
- Other tasks as required to support the development of the Eastern Indonesia Program.
Outputs
- Budgets and updates of financial status for the programs
- Orderly account documentation in accordance to World Bank procedures
- Organized office facilities with appropriate stocks of logistics procured in accordance to World Bank procedures
- Regularly updated office inventory
- Human Resource plan
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree (S1) or relevant university degree or equivalent experiences
- Familiarity with administrative and financial procedures of international organizations. Familiarity with World Bank systems is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills. Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Good understanding of Eastern Indonesian development issues, context and dynamics and commitment to the development of Eastern Indonesia
- Willingness to travel in the region as required
Reporting The Senior Program Assistant will be supervised by and report to the Team Leader for the SOfEI in Makassar , under the overall guidance of the Social Development Sector Coordinator.
