JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Save the Children UK (SCUK) is a leading international NGO working to create a better world for children. Our programme focuses on providing emergency relief, education, child protection, the impact of conflict on children and child rights work. Currently SCUK – Indonesia is seeking highly motivated, dedicated and experienced staff for the following positions :
. Disaster Risk Reduction Coordinator NTT based in Atambua - 1 post (DRR-C-NTT) The post holder will plan, develop, supervise, monitor and evaluate the implementation of DRR project activities in NTT to ensure effective implementation of the programme and its compliance with SCUK’s objectives. This position will be responsible for boosting SC emergency capabilities in DRR and Emergency Preparedness and Response, including capacity building of staff and stakeholders, as well as monitoring and evaluation of all DRR activities.
Requirement :
· Over all 5 years work experience of which at least 2-3 years in DRR and or emergencies or humanitarian response and management experience in an NGO at Senior Officer / Coordinator level
2. Disaster Risk Reduction Senior Officer NTT based in Atambua - 1 post (DRR-SO-NTT) 3. Disaster Risk Reduction Senior Officer North Maluku based in Ternate - 1 post (DRR-SO-NM) The post holder will implement agreed upon projects, boost SC emergencies capabilities by having in place that can devote 100% of their time to implement the DRR and Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) respectively, to enhance net working within project area children and communities, province level government, international and national NGOs focused on DRR and CBRDD, to develop her/him (through on job training and specialized trainings), to make her/him as a full fledged DRR Officer to contribute to current DRR activities and through time as a full fledged DRR Officer. The creation of these jobs will help implement DRR activities.
Requirement :
· Over all 3 years work experience of which at least 2 years in DRR and or emergencies or humanitarian response and management experience in an NGO at Senior Officer / Coordinator level.
4. Emergency Programme Officer based in Jakarta – 1 post (EPM-JKT) The post will boost SC emergencies capabilities by having in place that can devote 100% of their time to implement the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP), to enhance net working with international and national NGOs for emergency preparedness and response, to develop them (through on job training and specialized trainings) to make them as a full fledged Emergency officers to contribute to current emergency programme needs and through time as a full fledged Emergency Programme Managers to contribute to national and international emergency preparedness and response calls. The creation of these jobs in the future will reduce international staff need for medium size disasters.
Requirement :
· At least 2-3 years in emergencies / humanitarian response and management experience in an NGO at officer/coordinator level
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: · Bachelor Degree in relevant social studies discipline, especially in management or related field. Masters Degree is preferable · Experience & familiarities with DRR and or Emergency Response Programmes and programme development with a child rights perspective • Familiarity with the Indonesian basic Child Protection system and current issues and understanding of primary education teaching methodologies, especially active learning • Experience or commitment of work in a conflict or post-conflict situation • The personal circumstances to be able to travel for 90-100 days a year, including for up to 20 days at a time and work in remote and harsh areas · Highly developed interpersonal & communication skills to establish effective relationships & having diplomacy skill · Good writing skills and negotiation skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English · Ability to work with limited supervision · Computer skills (especially word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and publishing applications)
