The American Red Cross Tsunami Recovery Program (TRP)
had been established to direct the organizationʼ s response to the South
Asia tsunami disaster. The TRP activities focus on integrated community
recovery and preparedness interventions in tsunami affected countries
in Asia and East Africa in collaboration with Red Cross and non-Red

The Indonesia TRP Delegation operates from offices in Banda Aceh (main), Calang, Lamno, Sabang and Pulo Aceh. It also has liaison offices in Jakarta,
and other areas in Aceh province in collaboration with the Indonesian
Red Cross. The Indonesia TRP program has a budget of over $200m. It
commenced in May 2005 and will be completed by June 2010.

Hygiene Promoter Officer
(Aceh - Banda Aceh)
Responsibilities:
Conduct
field assessment on hygiene practices of the community at initial stage
of project and for monitoring purposes through relevant methodsPromote and facilitate the community to form VWSC, formulate VWS agreement and translate it into action planPrepare
with VWSC setting up simple management of fund, water facilities
maintenance and active campaign for hygiene practices through using
local resources Assist in training preparation of PHAST for VWSCParticipate in PHAST training and other relevant training required for field implementationActiv e in contributing ideas and initiative to improve hygiene promotiontechniques Write biweekly narrative report for the Community Program Assistant
Requirements:
Having at least 1-2 years experience working in communitydevelopmen t / health area; Good in English (writing, speaking, reading);Knowing participatory approach in working with villagers; Wants to spend most of his/her time in the villageHaving knowledge and experience working with communityKnow basic principle of participatory approachHold S1 degree in social science background with NGO experience is preferableComputer literate, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
