From supporting adaptation to climate change to developing business enterprises, Oxfam’s work in Indonesia is as varied and challenging as any development programme. And while we might be making progress, it’s far from over. Simply put, we need you.
Be challenged
With development programmes as complex as ours in Indonesia, it’s essential we put every resource to good use and work as effectively as possible. With this in mind, you’ll serve as a dedicated expert on all development issues relating to livelihoods and livelihood support. Making sure we learn from our work, you’ll help research and plan projects and follow them up with detailed evaluation, growing your understanding of what works best and carrying out training to strengthen areas that aren’t achieving what they should. You’ll work in remote communities as well as Jakarta advising village women as well as the country director and represent Oxfam across a wide range of forums.
Be involved
With a genuine opportunity to change people’s lives, this is one of Oxfam’s most rewarding roles. With this in mind, you’ll need a real commitment to gender equality, not to mention an understanding of the latest thinking in how to support poor people to make a living and get out of poverty. Degree qualified in a subject that benefits livelihoods in developing countries and competent in English and Indonesian, you’ll have no problem impacting our advocacy work on a truly impressive scale. You’ll also be familiar with coaching and mentoring, experienced in influencing a wide range of people and ready to travel extensively to achieve Oxfam’s goals.
