ASB Indonesia is rapidly gaining recognition as a lead organization in the Asia-Pacific for its innovative work on DRR education for people with disabilities. Following an expansion of its disaster risk reduction (DRR) programme for young people with disabilities ASB's Indonesia office is pleased to announce the following vacancy: Title:Training Specialist for People with Disabilities (PWDs) Position:Senior; full-time; national/internatio nal Duration:Immediate start to end November 2009 (2 month probation period) Location:Yogyakarta , Indonesia (some travel within Indonesia required) Closing date: 7 September 2008 Requirements: •Advanced degree in education/special education/disabilit y studies or similar. •5 years professional experience in educational development/ training for people with disabilities. •Knowledge of international policy and standards on disabilities, rights and inclusion essential. •Sound understanding of development discourse. •Fluency in English and working knowledge of Indonesian essential. •Excellent administrative and reporting skills. •Proven experience of working with a range of stakeholders including government representatives. •Project cycle management experience a prerequisite. •Knowledge of sign language (ASL or CP) or Braille an advantage. •DRR experience an advantage. •Creativity and an ability to deliver relevant and engaging educational solutions.
