Caritas Switzerlandseeks dynamic individuals to fill the position of :
1. Adult Education Officer
Summary of Job profile and responsibilities:
The Adult Education Officer shall assist the Livelihood Project Coordinator in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Livelihood Project in Aceh Singkil.
S/he is responsible to the Livelihood Project Coordinator in the development and implementation of literacy improvement program for the beneficiaries in Aceh Singkil.
Qualifications:
1. Graduate of education, public administration or other social science course or equivalent 5 years of work experience in organizing and managing literacy classes for farmers, fisher and other sectors from rural areas;
2. At least 2 years work experience with an NGO;
3. Have good understanding of adult education principles and processes;
4. Have good learning facilitation skills;
5. Able to contribute positively to team dynamics
6. Must be able to work well independently and demonstrate initiative, under pressure, and be flexible to adapt to changing requirements;
7. Able to write and communicate in English
8. Computer literate (MS word, powerpoint, excel) and using internet facilities;
9. Possess good patience and good moral character
2. Livelihood Project Officer – Agriculture/ livestock
Summary of Job profile and responsibilities:
The Project Officer-Livelihood shall assist the Livelihood Project Coordinator in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Livelihood Project in Aceh Singkil. The person will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and monitoring and evaluation of appropriate technologies, i.e. farming, livestock production to improve the livelihoods of beneficiaries and provide technical assistance to partners and beneficiaries in group development and training.
Qualifications:
1. BA/Masters of Agriculture;
2. At least 5 years experience in community development work involved in agriculture (crops and livestock) production extension, at least 2 years working experience with an NGO;
3. Experience in networking and collaboration with government and non-government organizations;
4. Experience in community facilitation and training of beneficiaries is an advantage;
5. Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
6. Able to contribute positively to team dynamics
7. Must be able to work well independently and demonstrate initiative, under pressure, and be flexible to adapt to changing requirements;
8. Able to write and communicate in English
9. Computer literate (MS word, powerpoint, excel) and using internet facilities;
10. Possess good patience and good moral character
Location of work : Singkil, Aceh Singkil, NAD
Closing date of application : 11th September 2008.
Duration of appointment : 2 years with possibility of extension depending on work performance and availability of resources.
