Dear All, John Snow International (JSI) is a Human Resources professional for the Health Services Program (HSP). HSP is a five year development assistance program to the Indonesia Ministry of Health, working in six provinces on issues of maternal, child and newborn health. It is funded by USAID. The program will operate through 2009, covering districts in Aceh, North Sumatera and Java.

ACCOUNTANT Provides management and oversight of all accounting and financial related functions In the HSP Regional Office and related sub-offices Duties and responsibilities: * Ensures that all HSP employees are paid on time * Establishes and maintains accounting and financial systems for the Regional Office that are consistent to the procedures and standards of HSP * Provides a monthly analysis and projection of Regional financial requirements (cash flow) and transmits to Jakarta/HQ on a routine basis * Manages financial operations of regional office including accounts payable, advance tracking, enter financial transactions to Quickbooks, reconciliation of advance statements and monthly bank reconciliation * Supervises and reviews on a monthly basis, sub-office accounting systems and sub-office accountants * Responds to employee, consultant and/or vendor questions related to payment * Provides Regional Director with a monthly status report on the condition of regional budget * Establishes and coordinates all petty cash funds in region. Provides oversight of petty cash in sub-offices and replenishes on a monthly basis following review of records/receipts * Makes changes in the field accounts (project coding) where necessary * Completes reconciliation sheet on a monthly basis * Coordinates the financial arrangement for workshops, training sessions, etc. * Ensures procurements follow accepted USAID standards and procedures Educational Qualifications: University degree in accounting or related financial area is preferred Skills: * Fully competent in Excel and Microsoft Word * Ability to manage complex accounting systems and supervise personnel * Knowledge of data input systems (with priority consideration for Quick Books knowledge) * A strong work ethic and ability to work with minimum direction Experience: * At least 4 years of experience in finance and accounting * At least 2 years of work experience in a supervisory capacity * Familiar with USAID financial procedures and regulations * Computer knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word computer software * Familiar with audit procedures and mechanisms Regards,
